WHAT IS THE BANYAN PARADIGM?
The Banyan Paradigm is a holistic approach to support individuals with developmental disabilities. It helps bridge the gaps among existing services in the community. This approach meets individuals' needs and suits their abilities in the right spot. It provides a smooth transition between modules, so that their participation will not be interrupted.

The 3 essential components are Responsive, Collaborative and Inclusive.

Responsive : Sensitive to individuals need and provides immediate support at the right point of intervention;

Collaborative: Creates a channel and network for individuals to live and work alongside as well as with their community;

Inclusive: Provides opportunities for families and community partners to assist individuals in reaching the goal of an independent and enriched life.

THE BANYAN PARADIGM
Our facility offers a safe, dynamic and harmonious environment, where individuals with developmental disabilities are guided through different stages of their lives. All of our programs aer designed to accomodate indivdiual learning pace and abilities. Structured Teaching approach amplifies strengths.

Module 1
Structured Teaching Programs : Individualized program plans based on students' learning pace and abilities with the goal to achieve independent living.

Independent Living Quarter : Trainees will be assisted successfully and will be able to adapt to their future group living.

Module 2
Professional Services : Provide quality therapeutic treatment and training sessions administered by licensed therapists such as : occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speed pathology, music therapy etc.

Intergrated Sensory Unit : A calm and non-threatening place to foster and stimulate sensory processing and integration.

Module 3
Business Support Centre & Simulated Production Workplace :Trainees will be trained to develop job skills in the workplace and job outreach work groups will provide services at the employer's side.

Module 4
Gift Shop :Trainees will understand and experience buying and selling as a business concept. Trainees will also be able to practice and improve interpersonal communication skills and promote social interactions through business transactions.

Pottery Workshop : Designed to foster fine motor skills and to encourage creativity in maing pottery items to be sold at the gift shop.

Module 5
Kitchen Project :Trainees will learn cooperative effort through food preparation and service using the Structured Teaching concept. The gift shop, kitchen and food retail outlet will also provide additional opportunities for students to understand reciprocal social relationships with the community. Additionally, it provides practical job training placements for students to apply their learning skills into real-life context.

Module 6
Resource Centre : A multifunctional area for meetings, workshops, consultations, intake assessment interviews as well as for families of our clients to exchange ideas and receive resourceful information.
